Research Co-planning with Inuit in the Arctic
Ongoing
Title: Planning Proposal to Collaboratively Develop Community Partnerships with Nunavut Residents (2022–2025)
This project examines how climate impacts intersect with non-climate factors such as healthcare, employment, and education in Arctic communities reliant on both subsistence and market-based food systems. In partnership with Inuit Elders and community leaders, we co-develop research questions, methods, and evaluation strategies to support food security goals. The project emphasizes ethical engagement, culturally appropriate communication, and participatory proposal development. Key outcomes include a community-driven research proposal, a peer-reviewed article, and graduate student training in Arctic research. This work strengthens research partnerships and builds capacity for future community-led studies
