The Climate-Food-Health Nexus of Indigenous Peoples

Ongoing

Title: The Indigenous Peoples Observatory Network (IPON): The Climate-Food-Health Nexus (2024–2027)

IPON addresses the interconnected challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and land degradation, which threaten Indigenous food systems, health, and well-being. Rooted in community-led knowledge, IPON establishes Indigenous observatories across all seven UN socio-cultural regions. These observatories document real-time climate impacts, responses, and resilience strategies, integrating Indigenous knowledge with science. By fostering dialogue between Indigenous communities, researchers, and policymakers, IPON strengthens adaptive capacity and informs decision-making at regional, national, and global levels. This initiative advances transdisciplinary research, empowering Indigenous Peoples to shape policies and actions that support their resilience and well-being in the face of environmental change
